Spoonful of Sugar (SOS) Event

Last week, after a “somewhat” rude chat in one of the groups I have, I got in contact with Ever Courtois. After we chatted for a while she told me I should participate in the Spoonful of Sugar Event  (SOS) next year. This year all the places where already filled up and the event was running already. I saw the event already several times announced at the SL login page and I went again to their website.

What is the Spoonful of Sugar Event?

SOS is to help Doctors without borders. All is expained on their website

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.

Ever Courtois & Angel Wickentower are proud to found The Spoonful of Sugar Festival, and are determined that we will be an ongoing, successful source of support for MSF/Doctors Without Borders.

After reading it all I thought the least I could do was putting out a donation kiosk and a sign with information about the event in my shop, so I asked her for that.

Ten minutes later I was putting up my shop at the event…  She found me an empty one and  part of my profit in that shop will go to MSF. There are vendors that transfer 100, 75 and 50 % to MSF immediately. Since my main goal in SL is having fun and create something, I am happy I can help this way.

So you boys and girls .. If you think  “I am sooo in need of new clothes “ I am asking you to buy them at the event (till September 30^th) that way you and I both support MSF.

It’s not only shopping – there are also many show events – so I would say get down there and have a look around!
